OVERVIEW
Quilotoa is a volcanic crater filled by a beautiful emerald lake. From the rim of the crater, 3850 m., several snowcapped volcanoes can be seen in the distance
This small town is situated 12 KM west of the city of Latacunga approximately 2 hours from Quito. The majority of its population is indigenous, narrow streets, houses with inside patios, colonial houses visit its colorful market. Continue on to Quilotoa an spectacular view of this crater lake passing through the painters of Tigua and Zumbahua one of the oldest Indian markets which also comes alive on Saturdays. Have lunch at a local restaurant run by the community in the crater of Quilotoa.
