If you come to Ecuador and to Quito, the Equatorial Line and monument is a must, celebrating Ecuador’s location on the world map, Mitad del Mundo is one of the country’s most visited monuments, only 30 to 45 minutes from downtown Quito.  The majority of attributes upon which Quito was the first city to be named World Cultural and Historic Heritage Site by UNESCO a United Nations organization can still be seen today.

After a quick city tour of Quito, we will drive to the Middle of the World monument, geographically located at 0 degrees 0 minutes 0 seconds. We will visit the museum there and afterward walk around the authentic replica of a Spanish Colonial town. Finally, we will drive up to a viewpoint where we can observe the crater of the extinct Pululahua volcano-the only inhabited crater in the world.
